I’M KELSEY, THE FINEST QUEER HAIR WITCH IN ALL OF CHICAGOLAND.
I ALWAYS THOUGHT I’D BE A TATTOO ARTIST.
The idea of carrying art on your skin forever fascinated me, but there was just one problem—I have a shaky hand. No matter how much I practiced, the precision wasn’t there. So, I let that dream go.
My mother and I used to change my hair color every other weekend, constantly experimenting, reinventing, playing with possibilities. I loved the transformation, the freedom of expression, the way it felt to wear something new on my head and carry it through the world. Without realizing it, I was falling in love with an art form I could actually master.
ABOUT ME:
BUT HAIR? HAIR WAS DIFFERENT.
MY ARTISTRY:
HAIR AS A FORM OF SELF-EXPRESSION
Fifteen years of experience have given me a unique perspective on beauty that transcends the conventional. My aesthetic is a fusion of strange and unusual elements, creating a look that is distinctly my own. I believe that hair is not just an accessory but a canvas for self-expression, and I constantly find myself examining the world around me, applying it in unexpected ways.
Colors inspired by the beauty of birds:
Whether it’s a bold transformation or subtle enhancements, my focus is on delivering results that highlight your best self. I thrive on making large changes or minimal adjustments that not only accentuate your unique features but also empower you to feel confident and beautiful.
Being vegan is an integral part of my identity, shaping my approach to both life and artistry. This commitment deepens my empathy and fuels my passion for ensuring a high quality of life for all beings. I carry this ethos into my work, striving to create an environment that respects and uplifts both my clients and the world we share.
Committed to a vegan lifestyle:
A key principle of my practice is that your hair should not only look stunning when you leave the salon but also be easily replicable as it grows out. Whether it’s a chic haircut or an evolving color palette, I am dedicated to ensuring that your style remains fresh and beautiful over time. My goal is to craft hair that works with you, adapting seamlessly as you embrace life’s changes.
Cuts & colors designed to last.

QUEER & TRANS OWNED SAFE SPACE
My Queer Journey has been… well… a journey.
I always knew I was queer, but growing up in a small town, I didn’t know it was an option. The first time I told my mother, she brushed it off—“just a phase,” she said. I wanted so badly to make her proud, to be the version of me she could accept. So at 19, I married a man, thinking if I played the part well enough, maybe I could make it true. Years passed. We started looking for houses, planning for a future that was supposed to feel secure, but instead, it felt like a slow suffocation. One night, I had a dream—one of those vivid, gut-wrenching ones where you wake up gasping. In it, I was older, trapped in a life that wasn’t mine, living a lie I had built with my own hands. I couldn’t ignore it. So, I came out again.
Everyone’s story is different.
The hardest part wasn’t the coming out itself—it was realizing that my life was my own. That no amount of approval would ever be worth denying myself. That making my mother proud couldn’t come at the cost of shunning who I was. Now, I embrace who I am in every way possible. In my life, in my work, in every color I paint onto someone’s hair. Transformation, after all, isn’t just about what you look like—it’s about becoming who you were always meant to be.
